FRE 3320 - Business French

Credits: 3 hrs
Business French is a study of business practices and the language of business in the French-speaking world. The course is designed to help students develop French language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) and cultural competency required to become functional in the French working environment. Class discussions, readings, films and other activities will be based on such topics as creation of a business, business documents and correspondence, banking, economic geography, politics, government, industry, job search and employment, marketing, finance, the European Union, and OHADA (Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa.) This course will also prepare students for the exam for the Certificat Pratique de Français Commercial given by the Paris Chamber of Commerce. The class is conducted in French.
