Management Information Systems Minor

The objectives of the minor program in MIS are to:

  1. Introduce students to the basic concepts of information technology.
  2. Introduce students to the various components of information systems.
  3. Prepare students to participate in the development and support of comprehensive information systems.

The program of study for a minor in MIS requires the completion of the following 18 semester hours of course work with grades of C or better:

Management Information Systems Minor - Requirements (18 Hours) 

MIS 2312 - Internet Technology (GE)

MIS 2320 - Structured System Building

MIS 3340 - Systems Analysis and Design

MIS 3380 - File Structures and Database Operations

And 6 hours (two courses) from among the following: 

MIS 3311 - Advanced Event-Driven Programming

MIS 3320 - Project Management Tools & Concepts

MIS 3330 - Information Systems Concepts

MIS 3360 - Basic Concepts of Telecommunications

MIS 4322 - Global Electronic Commerce

MIS 4340 - Web System Development

MIS 4360 - Information Resources Management: Basic Components and Considerations

MIS 4380 - Advanced Management of Information Systems
