Program Description
It is the mission of the Motorsports Management program to prepare students for entry level management positions within the motorsports industry.
The major in Motorsport Management allows students to pursue a broad core program within the academic area while completing preparation in one of two concentration areas: Motorsport Operations or Motorsport Marketing and Event Planning. Students will be prepared to address management-related issues in a rapidly expanding international consumer-driven marketplace. Coursework in the program is interdisciplinary and experiential. In addition to course-related experiential learning, a required semester-long internship in the motorsport setting will provide students with the desired experiences to not only meet educational objectives, but also serve as an avenue for enhanced career placement.
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the Motorsport Management degree program, graduates will be able to:
- Demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities essential for managing personnel, teams and facilities specific to the international motorsport industry.
- Develop and apply effective communication strategies both orally and written within their chosen motorsport organization.
