IMPORTANT NOTE: This program was discontinued May 15, 2009. No new majors will be accepted in this program. However, students who have been admitted to the program will be given an opportunity to complete their work over the next three years.
The major in art education requires a minimum of 42 semesters of art courses. Students enrolled in the art teacher education program are required to complete a concentration in at least one studio area. Students are strongly encouraged to take MATH 2302 Principles of Math and EDU 2103 Praxis I prior to taking the Praxis I exam. Refer to the School of Education’s “Admission to Teacher Education” section in this catalog for additional information on program requirements.
