(GE) General Education Core Requirements
1. MIS 1380 can alternatively be fulfilled by CSC 1306.
2. Math placement test is used to select the initial Math course. Based on your score on the math placement test, you can receive credit for MAT 1311 and you will also be placed in either MAT 1312 or MAT 1313.
3. Choose two (2) social sciences with different prefixes from: POS 2311, PSY 2301, (HIS 1301, 1302, 3341, or 3342) and SOC 2301. See note five (5) below.
4. Choose one (1) Humanities course from: ART 2306, HUM 2310, REL 3311, PHI 2301, PHI 2303. See note five (5) below.
5. To satisfy the African American Experience (AAE) course requirement, you have the following choices. You must enroll in one of the following courses: (HIS 3341, HIS 3342-choose one) or humanities (ART 2306, HUM 2310, REL 3311-choose one) requirement.
6. Choose one (1) physical science course for 4 semester credit hours from: PHS 2336 and PHS 2136, PHS 2337 and PHS 2137, CHE 1311 and CHE 1111, CHEM 2311 and CHEM 2111, PHY 2321 and PHY 2121, PHY 2322 and PHY 2122, PHY 3331 and PHY 3131 or PHY 3332, and PHY 3132.
7. At least three (3) semester hours of electives must be taken outside the School of Business and Economics. Double major or minor requirements may be used as electives. Suggested electives are: ACC 3319, BUA 3302, ECO 4301, ECO 4331, FIN 2356, MGT 1304, MIS 3330, MKT 4380
Note: Grades of “C” or better are required in all School of Business and Economics courses. Those courses are prefixed by ACC, BCO, BLA, BUA, ECO, FIN, MGT, MIS, MKT, or QBA.
