BIO 2301 - Principles of Biology ICredits: 3 hrs. Biology 2301 is a curriculum course emphasizing basic biological principles, the process of science, and related laboratory activities. Biology 2301 is specifically designed for biology majors and honors students and provides in-depth treatment of molecular and cellular concepts. The course provides the background needed for biology majors as they progress to advanced courses. For all students it contributes to the development of scientific literacy and is important as part of a broad education and for becoming a well-informed citizen and scientist in the scientific community. Three hours of lecture and one hour of recitation per week. Prerequisite: A passing score. Corequisite(s): BIO 2101. General Education Course that satisfies SLO:Scientific Literacy; AK: Natural Sciences.
