MGT 3350 - Fundamentals of International Business

Credits: 3 hrs.
This course is an overview of international business. Topics addressed include theories of international trade, direct foreign investment, the evolution of the international monetary system, balance of payments, and international institutions such as the WTO, IMF, OECD, and OPEC. Other topics include regional economic integrations such as NAFTA and the EU, big emerging markets, currency regimes and exchange rates, political, legal, cultural, social, economic, and technological dimensions of the international business environment. This course will also include an overview of entry modes such as exporting, licensing, franchising, joint venturing, outsourcing, and exploration of the future of international business.
