ENG 1311 - English as a Second Language (ESL)Credits: 3 hrs This course is designed to teach non-native speakers and Limited English Proficient students the fundamentals of standard English through listening, speaking, reading, and writing and to develop and refine these skills. Emphasis is placed on proficiency in using vocabulary and syntax in context. Teaching/learning strategies are designed specifically for adults. Special attention will be given to age-appropriate and career-specific skills development through the selection of definite ESL activities and educational materials and media. Individualized sessions are offered according to the native language of each speaker/student.
