ESL 4301 - Effective Teaching Methods in ESLCredits: 3 hrs. This course is designed to examine the major trends, methods, principles and strategies of teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). Special emphasis will be placed on the major trends language teaching contributing to the development of students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. ESL content-based instruction will also be referenced in this course. Lesson planning, micro-teaching, examination of textbooks in the discipline will be addressed. Ways of adapting lesson plans and textbooks to the needs of ESL students will be discussed. Prerequisite(s): ENG 2301 or ENG 2302
