ART 3315 - The Artist in the Natural World

Credits: 3 hrs

This course is designed to allow students to pursue their interest in the natural world through their creative practice. Students will explore the historical role artists have played in Natural Science, Natural History, and Nature Studies, and become aware of the global influence this work has had. Students will build upon skills acquired in previous coursework to develop a project based on their individual interest in some aspect of the natural environment. Students with work with materials and techniques of their choice which are appropriate to the specific project developed and their skills. Students will develop their ideas through research and create a project proposal. Students will be expected to articulate their ideas to others, respond to visual work, and pursue research.
