DPT 8201 - Adult Neuromuscular II LectureCredits: 2 Hrs. This course is a continuation and a companion course to Adult Neuromuscular I. Emphasis will be placed on assessment, patient management concepts, treatment skills, and goal writing for specific neurological conditions for adult patients. Through lectures, physical demonstrations, videos and live web links, case studies, field trips, and other small- and large-group learning activities, all students will learn the clinical logic pertinent to evaluation and rehabilitation of adult patients with neurological disorders, based on the Guide to Physical Therapist Practice and other evidence-based material from evidence-based practice. Evaluation and intervention for adults with lower motor neuron, mixed lower and upper motor neuron, and neurodegenerative disorders, will be covered, including (but not limited to) Guillain-Barre, Post-Polio syndrome, Spinal Cord Injury, and Parkinson and Huntington disease
