BIO 3171 - Ecology and Evolution LaboratoryCredits: 1 hr. Ecology and Evolution Lab is a course designed to give students hands-on experiences with the concepts discussed in Ecology and Evolution lecture class. The course focuses on the fundamental ways in which populations of organisms change, grow, and interact with their environment. These interactions are explored at the level of individuals and populations, over both short and long time scales. The emphasis is on understanding the underlying mechanisms that shape population- and community-level processes from a mathematical perspective. Computational tools will be used heavily to model population and community processes. Prerequisite(s): BIO 3366 and MAT 2317 with a grade of “C-” or better, or permission of instructor. Corequisite(s): BIO 3371 (Ecology and Evolution)
