CLS XXXX - Molecular Diagnostics

Credits: 2 hrs
This course will cover the fundamental principles of molecular diagnostics and techniques used in clinical and research laboratories. Topics include: nucleic acid extraction and hybridization; target, signal and probe amplification; gene expression analysis and in-situ hybridization techniques, mutation detection, oncology, forensics, paternity testing, transplantation, infection disease detection. Quality assurance, regulatory, and ethical issues associated with molecular testing are included in the course. Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into the professional phase of the CLS program.
