CLS 4303 - Molecular Diagnostics LectureCredits: 3 hrs. This course covers the fundamental principles of molecular diagnostics as well as techniques used in clinical and research laboratories. Topics include: nucleic acid extraction and hybridization; target, signal and probe amplification; gene expression analysis and in-situ hybridization techniques, mutation detection, oncology, forensics, paternity testing, transplantation, infectious disease detection. Quality assurance, regulatory, and ethical issues associated with molecular testing are included in the course. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the CLS Professional Phase. Corequisite(s): CLS 3109
