HCM 3304 - Introduction to Health Information Management

This course introduces students to the basics of health information management. It identifies the roles and responsibilities of Health Information professionals, the content of the health care record: administrative data e.g., billing, reimbursement, and consent forms and clinical data i.e., that information provided by the health care provider. Health information management nomenclature and classification systems also will be addressed. Prerequisite(s): HCM 3301, HCM 3302
