REL 2312 - Contemporary Issues of Eastern Religions

Credits: 3 hrs
This course provides a survey to the major religious traditions originating in India, China, and Japan: Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Confucianism, Daoism, and Shinto in an effort to understand Asian religions from different cultural perspectives including the United States and around the world. The class will include the study of primary texts, data from fieldwork, films and guest speakers.
