ELE 3304 - Curriculum Development Credits: 3 hrs This course introduces the prospective teacher to the major types of elementary curricula: the State Course of Study, the organization, objectives, techniques, procedures, and instructional resources. Emphasis is placed on innovation and current trends in the curricula; analysis of modern teaching situations and issues; the selection, application and organization of content; and the optimum use of appropriate materials and techniques applicable to grades K-6. Provisions are made for observations in schools with varying organizational patterns. Periods Per week: (Three periods per week.) Pre-requisite(s): Admission to Teacher Education Program.
