MCM 4321 - International Communications Credits: 3 hrs This lecture-seminar course surveys various media systems across the globe and examines diverse issues, theories, concepts, history and research in the field of international communications. Students learn about international communication concepts like the free flow of information, cultural homogenization, cultural hybridization, public diplomacy, propaganda, the CNN-effect, media bias and framing that affect communications between nations and cultures in this today’s information age, and in times of rapid globalization and digital convergence.
