MIS 4314 - Accounting Information Systems Credits: 3 hrs The role of the accounting information system is addressed from two aspects: (1) as the framework for the general, integrated information system within the organization, and (2) as the method of choice for measuring both monetary and nonmonetary forms of asset-equity transactions. This course focus is on the components of the accounting information system, their interrelationships and basic functions in providing information for day-to-day decision-making by management. Students are provided firsthand exposure to system development outside the classroom either individually or as members of functionally integrated teams.
