SOC 2305 - African-American Health & Society Credits: 3 hrs Studies illustrate that the African American community experiences health disparities that stem from health behaviors, beliefs, beliefs and practices, differences in health care delivery, and beyond. This course will help students identify, locate, evaluate, and use information effectively and responsibly in order to better understand the health status and health problems of the African American community from a sociological, public health, and multidisciplinary perspective. This class will provide a method of learning for student development through active participation. This course meets the general education requirement for information literacy.
