ESL 5310 - Language Acquisition and Language Learning * Credits: 3 hrs This course focuses on the nature of language learning, first and second language acquisition theories, stages of second language development, and individual learner needs and characteristics that will contribute to student performance. Teacher candidates plan lessons that meet the diverse needs of their student populations, and draw conclusions about various language learning theories and how their action research results can be applied to their classrooms, schools, and communities.
