CST 63xx - Big Data Analytics

This course provides students with the basic knowledge of big data tools and techniques and lets them apply that knowledge in their areas of study. This course provides a broad and practical introduction to big data; data analysis techniques including databases, data mining, and machine learning; data analysis tools including spreadsheets, relational databases etc.; data visualization techniques; pitfalls in data collection and analysis; privacy, and other ethical issues. The focus will be on providing a basic understanding of the fundamentals of these tools and techniques with realistic applications in marketing, healthcare, engineering and web-based data. Prerequisite(s): Fundamentals of Data Analytics, CST 6307: Data Mining
