ART 3305 - African-American Art Credits: 3 hrs This lecture course deals with the African-American aesthetic and the indigenous arts and artifacts that establish an African- American art heritage. It traces the evolution of African-Americans’ involvement in the visual arts in the United States from the period of slavery through the Harlem Renaissance, the depression years, and Civil Rights movements of the 1960s to the present. This course is offered for non-majors. It is a required course for majors. Pre-requisite(s): ART 2302 Student Learning Outcome: Written Communication Area of Knowledge: Fine Arts Hours Per Week: (Three hours per week.)
