MCM 3342 - Mass, Communications and Culture Credits: 3 hrs This is a General Education course which satisfies Information Literacy student learning outcome requirement. Media, Communication and Culture provides an overview of the role, structure and functions of mass media in contemporary society. The course also promotes awareness of the social, economic, cultural, political and technological aspects of mass communications along with an introduction to basic theory, business strategies and aesthetics. This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of media and audience relationships, and the role of the media in shaping public opinion.
