MUS 1301 - Introduction to Music (non-majors) Credits: 3 hrs This course reviews rhythm, harmony, melody, form, and instruments of the orchestra, which are the principal elements of an effective listening technique. It also presents historical and cultural characteristics of each period from the Middle Ages to the present. Selected works representing major composers of the different periods of music are approached through various performance media.
