BIO 1314 - General Biology II Credits: 3 hrs This year course emphasizes basic biological principles and is specifically designed for biology majors and honors students and provides an introductory survey of the diversity separate: prokaryotes, protists, plants, fungi and animals. The structure and function of plants and animals will be covered in more depth along with an introduction to ecology and the environment. The course provides the background needed for biology majors as they progress to advanced courses. Periods Per week: Three hours of lecture and one hour of recitation per week. Pre-requisite(s): Students must test out of or pass RED 1311 Corequisite(s): Corequisite for Biology: BIO 1302 Student Learning Outcome: Scientific Literacy Area of Knowledge: Natural Sciences
