CHE 4241 - Senior Seminar Credits: 2 hrs Students in this writing emphasis (WE) capstone course will focus their efforts on the preparation of a research paper and delivery of a seminar on a topic of current interest in the field of chemistry. The research paper will require students to successfully utilize their information literacy and written communication skills, as well as engage students in the writing process (multiple drafts/revisions, peer & professional reviews, etc.). Upon completion of the writing assignment, students will be required to orally present their topic in a brief presentation open to faculty and peers. All students will be required to complete an assessment activity (i.e. a standardized subject test) related directly to the chemistry major. Additional course assignments may be employed to support these initiatives. Periods Per week: Two lecture hours per week Pre-requisite(s): ‘C’ or higher in 24+ hours of CHE courses
