REH 6319 - Psychopharmacology Credits: 3 hrs This course provides an overview of psychotropic medications used in the management of mental, behavioral, and addictive disorders in children and adults. Student will explore basic anatomical, physiological, and chemical characteristics of the nervous system to understand the rationale for using medications, along with their limitations and side effects. Additionally, students wil explore related historical, social, ethnic and cultural factors related to counseling and psychotropic medical treatment.
