RHS 4601 - Internship in Rehabilitation Studies Credits: 6 hrs The purpose of the internship class in rehabilitation studies is to prepare students for professional practice with individuals who have physical, mental, and/or emotional disabilities. The undergraduate program blends academic training with clinical experiences. The internship allows the students to continue to transfer theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom into community-based practice under supervision. Students will work under the direct supervision of a professional on site. Prior to enrolling for the course, the student will meet with the internship coordinator of Rehabilitation Studies to identify an appropriate site and complete the procedures for initiation of the internship. Pre-requisite(s): Completion of rehabilitation core program as well as concentration area and senior standing. Student may be permitted to take this course in conjunction with two remaining major core courses. Student Learning Outcome: Criticial Thinking
