CHI 3325 - Economics of East Asia

Credits: 3 hrs
CHI 3325 Economics of East Asia is a new course listed as an equivalent to ECO 3315 - Economics of East Asia . Students will learn about the historic, social and economic dimensions of industrialization, agriculture, investment, human resources and trade in China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, and Korea. More than half of the course is devoted to the four major Chinese economies (China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong) as well as the impact of the Chinese diaspora on nearby countries (Vietnam, Korea, and Japan) due to cross-cultural interaction. A major paper is required as part of this course. Students may not receive credits for both CHI 3325 and ECO 3315.
