PHY 4305 - Fundamentals of Circuits Credits: 3 hrs An introduction to the concepts of inductance, inductive reactance, capacitance, capacitive reactance, and reactive circuits; time constants; alternating current terms and principles; transformers; calculation of AC circuit values. This course will also investigate these applications in all kinds of musical instruments, such as sound transducers, microphones, loudspeakers and loudspeaker enclosure design. Periods Per week: Three hours lecture. Pre-requisite(s): PHY 2321, PHY 2121 and MAT 1312. Corequisite(s): PHY 4110 (Acoustics/Circuits Lab)
