SPA 4333 - Masterpieces of Hispanic Fiction

Credits: 3 hrs

This course is a survey of the major fiction of Hispanic literature with special emphasis on the short story. Careful attention will be given to the prose works of the twentieth century. Authors like as Quiroga, Borges, Cortázar, Puig, Carpentier, García Márquez, Delibes, Matute, Cela, Sender, Galdós, Goytisolo, and others will be analyzed. Current novelistic theory and criticism will be introduced.
