DPT 7209 - Movement Disorders Credits: 2 hrs This course is designed to provide doctoral physical therapy students with an overview of various adult and pediatric neurological diagnoses (acquired, genetic, and neuro-degenerative). The multi-factorial etiology and pathophysiological changes in movement due to abnormalities in the central nervous system (spinal cord, cerebellum, brain stem, basal ganglia, and cerebral cortex) will be discussed. The clinical manifestation of movement problems related to these diagnoses will be explored in depth.
