NUR 4502 - Community Health Nursing Credits: 3 hrs This course emphasizes the role of the professional nurse in contributing to a culture of health for individuals, groups, families, communities, and populations. This course provides students with the oppurtunity to deepen their understanding of health, health promotion, and caring in the context of individuals, families, communities, and populations across the lifespan. Focus is on nursing and interprofessional collaborative practice in partnership with the client. Primary health care, health education, health promotion, social determinants of health, health disparities, communicable diseases, and disaster management are cricitically examined in the context of community health nursing practice.
