EXS 3325 - Sports Nutrition Credits: 3 hr This course will examine the relationship between nutrition and physical fitness, sport performance, and health promotion. Topics will include energy, fluid, and nutrient needs for physical activity; nutrition around exercise (before, during, recovery); free radicals and antioxidants; dietary supplements; body composition; weight management; disordered eating; and the female athlete triad. Sport-specific nutrition strategies for endurance, team sports, and strength training will be addressed.
