TRC 4350 - Internship in Recreation and Leisure Service

Credits: 9 hrs
This culminating experience in the non-licensure Therapeutic Recreation (TR) degree track is an internship of a minimum of 400 hours (9 SH) over a minimum of 10 weeks in an approved recreation or leisure placement.  There will be four scheduled class meetings for all students enrolled in the internship; the 400 contact hours are under the supervision of the site coordinator.  Regular reports including time logs and reflections on learning will be submitted.  A midterm and final evaluation will be expected from the site coordinator.  Students enroll in this course after completing most of the course work for the degree.  Other classes may be taken at the same time as the internship depending on the student’s degree plan.  The internship should be completed the last semester prior to graduation.
