NUR 3115 - Clinical Nursing Foundations

This course is an introduction to the role of the professional nurse as a provider of care, coordinator or care, member of the nursing profession, and a member of the interprofessional health care team. Course topics include, but are not limited to, fundamental concepts of nursing and interprofessional collaborative practice, prioritization of care, nursing process, clinical judgement, effective communication, medication administration, laboratory and diagnostics tests, and basic psychomotor skills. Learning experiences emphasize nursing’s distinct practice perspectives in the provision of nursing care within the healthcare system.
Pre-requisite(s): Admission to upper division nursing
