NUR 4212 - Maternal-Newborn Nursing Practicum

Credits: 2 hrs.

This course focuses on the nursing and interprofessional collaborative care of childbearing women, infants, and families. Emphasis is placed on the use of critical thinking skills to develop safe, evidence-informed practice care that promotes, maintains, and restores health for women, newborns, and their families. Students will apply and integrate nursing concepts to provide holistic care to diverse women and infants awith health care needs. Clinical experiences are coordinated in a variety of settings which offer students the opportunity to incorporate principles of care management, assessment and clinical skills while engaging with clients and interacting with interprofessional teams.
Pre-requisite(s): Completion of all junior-level courses or by special permission.
