ART 2302 - Art History II Credits: 3 hrs This lecture- and discussion-based course traces the chronological development of art from the Renaissance (c. 1400 CE) to the present. Students will learn to identify and understand the development of major techniques and wide-ranging themes in pre-modern, modern, and contemporary art from Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas, and to analyze and interpret these monuments in terms of their style, context, purpose, and history. Visits to galleries and museums will further develop these skills through the first-hand study of works of art.
This is a required course for Art majors and minors. Pre-requisite(s): ART 2301 Student Learning Outcome: Data Fluency Area of Knowledge: Fine Arts Level of Knowledge this Course Address(es): April 15, 2025 Hours Per Week: (Three hours per week.)
