ART 2309 - Latin American Women Artists Credits: 3 hrs
The course introduces students to major modern and contemporary Latin American women artists (1900 to the present). It addresses the education, status and working conditions of women artists in Latin America. The course will provide a survey of paintings, sculptures, prints, photographs, films/videos, literary works and installations by major Latin American women artists such as Frida Kahlo, Tina Modotti, Remedios Varo, Maria Izquierdo, Amerila Pelaez, and Ana Mendieta among many others.
