ART 2377 - Game Design & Animation

Credits: 3 hrs
This is an introduction to the creative process of Game Design and Animation and the art of programming for majors and non-majors alike, with or without prior artistic or programming experience. This course teaches you how to draw characters, design game spaces, and solve problems, both with and without code, with an emphasis on strategy, design, and style. Problem assignments are inspired by the arts, humanities, and sciences. More than teach you how to artistically design and program in one language, this course teaches you how to create characters and game space design. The course Scratch language was developed at MIT and through understanding Scratch, you can understand today’s newer computer code languages, but its simplicity allows you more creative freedom. Therefore, this is an “art-forward” introduction to game design and animation.
