Physics Minor

A minimum of 19 semester hours is required for a minor in this area. To satisfy the minor requirement, the following courses must be taken:

The general physics sequence of General Physics I and II and their labs (which require competency at the level of successfully completing Calculus II (MAT2318)) or the principles of physics sequence of Principles I and II and their labs.

  • PHY 2321 - General Physics I and PHY 2121 General Physics I Lab (requires Calculus II as a pre-requisite)
  • PHY 2322 - General Physics II and PHY 2122 General Physics II Lab

OR

  • PHY 3331 - Principles of Physics I  and PHY 3131 - Principles of Physics I Lab       
  • PHY 3332 - Principles of Physics II and PHY 3132 - Principles of Physics II Lab      

PHY 4301 - Modern Physics I and PHY 4101 - Modern Physics I Lab             

PHY 4302 - Modern Physics II and PHY 4102 - Modern Physics II Lab            

In addition, one course from the following must be taken:

PHY 3335 - Electricity and Magnetism I

PHY 3336 - Electricity and Magentism II

PHY 3334 - Optics        

PHY 3325 - Introduction to Biophysics
