Management Information Systems Minor

  1. Introduce students to the basic concepts of information technology.
  2. Introduce students to the various components of information systems.
  3. Prepare students to participate in the development and support of comprehensive information systems.

The program of study for a minor in MIS requires the completion of the following 18 semester hours of course work with grades of “C-” or better:

MIS Minor Requirements (18 Hours)

MIS 1380 - Business Computing

MIS 3320 - Project Management

MIS 3330 - Information Systems Concepts

MIS 3340 - Systems Analysis and Design

MIS 3380 - File Structures and Database Operations

Plus 3 hours of approved electives

MIS 2312 - Internet Technology

MIS 2320 - Structured Systems Building

MIS 2350 - Business Intelligence Concepts

MIS 4322 - Global Electronic Commerce

MIS 4330 - Advanced Project Management
