Finance Minor

A Minor in Finance is designed for non-business majors and business majors who wish to understand basic concepts in finance without undertaking the finance major. It is predominantly aimed at individuals who seek employment in the banking and securities industries and would be relevant to someone who wanted to be a stockbroker or insurance agent.
The minor requires a minimum of 18 SH of specified courses with grades of “C-” or better in all of those courses.
Requirements:
Foundation Courses
ACC 2316 – Principles of Financial Accounting
ECO 2312 – Principles of Macroeconomics
Breadth Courses
FIN 3357 – Personal Financial Planning
FIN 3351 – Principles of Financial Management (prereq ACC 2316 and MAT 1312 with a “C-” or higher)
Depth Courses
Any two (2) 3000 level or 4000-level FIN courses
