Goals
- To provide experiences and training that enable students to develop an appreciation for and a knowledge of the theater and its production processes
- To provide students with a general background of theatrical history
- To contribute to the emotional and intellectual development of students by providing opportunities for creative self-expression
Requirements
Students who minor in dramatic arts must earn a grade of C or above in all courses taken for the minor. The minor in dramatic arts requires 18 hours. Courses should be chosen from among the following:
DRA 2306 - Introduction to Dramatic Arts (Offered Fall)
DRA 2313 – Acting (Offered Fall)
DRA 3316 - Play Directing (Offered Spring – Alternate Years)
DRA 3321 - Play Production (Offered Spring – Alternate Years)
DRA 3326 – Playwriting (Offered Spring – Alternate Years)
DRA 3341 - Studies in Drama (Offered Fall – Alternate Years)
DRA 4331 - Modern Drama (Offered Fall – Alternate Years)
NOTE: DRA 2121 – Drama Guild is offered each semester and is open to all students.
