The Spanish for Healthcare and Professions Minor will help students develop targeted communication skills, cultural knowledge, and global perspectives and understanding that are currently demanded in any professional environment. The Spanish for Healthcare and Professions Minor will provide students with opportunities to participate in internships that require the use of their Spanish language skills. Courses in the Spanish for Healthcare and Professions Minor will help graduates to work with the growing Hispanic population in a more efficient manner.

Program Goals
One of the department’s goals is to provide students with a clear and accurate description of their course of study. Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will develop abilities to listen, speak read, and write in Spanish, with a focus on professional areas.
- Students will acquire real-world skills to better interact and serve the Spanish speaking community at a local or national level.
- Students will develop intercultural competence, demonstrating knowledge of other cultures’ practices and their norms in professional settings.
- Students will apply their Spanish language skills in a professional setting.
