ENG 1301 - Freshman Composition I

Credits: 3 hrs
This course is designed to improve the students’ ability to understand the written language and to communicate their ideas to others, especially in written form. Students discover, develop, organize, and then communicate their thoughts and evaluate the ideas of others. They work on speaking and listening skills in group discussions and in oral presentations. They use word processing extensively, including completing the common examination in the Writing Laboratory. Note: Placement in this writing courses depends upon the student’s level of proficiency as measured by a departmental examination. Prerequisite(s): Departmental placement or successful completion of ENG 1300.
