ART 4307 - Contemporary Art Seminar Credits: 3 hrs This course is designed to further a student’s understanding of contemporary art. As the definition of art in contemporary culture has become more fluid, students will investigate a broad range of practices and approaches. This course will investigate contemporary art from a global perspective introducing students to artists from various cultures. This course will emphasize oral presentations and classroom discussion based on student research, readings, and creative projects. Through this process students will come to better understand the role of the artist and their role as artist in our contemporary culture. This course will create an environment for students to discuss contemporary art as part of their creative practice. Students will complete a final project based on their research for this course. Pre-requisite(s): ART 2301 , ART 2302 , ART 3305 , or permission of the instructor
