SOC 3353 - Criminology Credits: 3 hrs Criminology is the scientific study of the nature, extent, causes, and control of criminal behavior. This course explores patterns and trends in crime and victimization, theories of crime causation, different types of crime, and the overall workings of the criminal justice system in the United States. Included are research-based discussions of the effectiveness and reform of crime-control strategies suggested by various theories of causation.
