PSY 3402 - Advanced Research Methods and Statistics in Psychology

Credits: 4 hrs
Psychologists use a wide variety of research methods and statistical techniques to study the attitudes, thoughts, beliefs, experiences, and behaviors of people and groups. This course is designed to strengthen students’ understanding of descriptive and correlational research, and introduce experimental and quasi-experimental research methodologies. Students will collect and analyze quantitative data (i.e., one-way ANOVA, regression, chi square) in SPSS, and present their findings in a final research paper. An introduction to qualitative research is also presented.
Course Repeatability: This course is limited to only one repeat attempt; that is, the course may be taken only two times.
Maximum Repeatable Hours: 8 hrs
Pre-requisite(s):  Psychology Major & PSY 2440 - Research Methods and Statistics .  Grade of “C-” is required for this prerequisite.
